MMMM.MMMM GOOD

If adoption was aloud from Xxxxxx, I would have brought this little boy home with me. This is a photo of him enjoying special baby food that we brought to the orphanage. One of the first goals when coming to a new orphanage, is to make sure the kids get good food to eat.
We are not alone . Hear is a letter I just received from a friend that is adopting a little girl from Central Asia.

Is anyone you know going over to Central Asia soon? I am having trouble shipping formula over to our girl. I made an internet order on the 17th of March and it's just sitting in the airport waiting for clearance. We brought over special premie formula for Xxxxx, but she needs more. I am running out of ideas. I hope it's ok to ask, but if someone is going over soon, could I send some formula with him/her

This may not seem like an earth shattering problem considering all that we have seen, but stop for a moment and put yourself in this new mothers shoes. Not only has she had to leave her new daughter on the other side of the world, but now she is told that the food is running out!

If you have the time, please take a moment and pray for this situation
Blessings John

WHO IS SHE ?

As I look through the photos, I ask myself "who is she ?"
is she some ones mother or grandmother?
What did she do with her life ?
What has she experienced ?
at the time , all we could ask our selves was "what is she doing here?"
so many questions, but no answers.
She arrived one day to one of the projects we were working on .
she sat in the middle of the room and watched us work for about an hour. she was probably thinking
"who are they ?"
are they some ones children or grandchildren
what are they doing with there lives
and WHAT ARE THEY DOING HERE ?
so many questions, but no answers.
Its so easy to get locked in or focused on the task at hand, and we can miss what is going on around us. We need to be like Peter and never be in to much of a rush,or to busy to stop and help those that we pass at the gate beautiful.
Но Петр сказал: серебра и золота нет у меня; а что имею, то даю тебе: во имя Иисуса Христа Назорея встань и ходи.
Then Peter said, "Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk."

Real Men Effecting Real Change

Ed , Ron , Sam
I was just in a chat room about world poverty. And with opinions like what I saw there it is no wonder this is an issue. The general consensus is that charities are nothing more than big business, and would keep as much money as they legally could for themselves.

I guess I am blessed to see the example set by these three inspirational Men
Each one works tirelessly to " be a voice for those with no voice" Ed... packed up and moved to the Ukraine were he would be at the front gate of the Former USSR, bringing help to the helpless. Ron.... along with pastoring a small community church, sits on the boards of several charitable organizations. His driving message is that every single one of us has the ability to make a difference in our community and in our country and around the world. He leads by example! Sam..... He's the wild guy, he takes his incredible enthusiasm and passion , and uses it to inspire entire organizations and communities to make a difference. I have donated to charities dirrected by all three of these men, and have not only seen every penny make it to the intended need, but many times, by the time the money makes it to the intended location it is two or three times more. They have found others to support as well, or maybe they have put up their own finances, but there has never been any question in my mind about where the money went. Just look at some of the previous posts and you will see the high level of accountability.
All three of these men are humble and will be slightly less than impressed with this post, but I think it's important that people know that in this day and age, there are still Real Men Effecting Real Change

News from Amanda

It's official!! I'm returning to Africa summer 2007!! I got my acceptance yesterday and I am really excited to be returning! I had a conference call last night with the rest of the staff team, and that just increased my excitement and passion to go back!
WOO Support raising scares me, it really does. But since the very beginning, I told God that I wasn't going to doubt His ability to provide, after all, He does own all the banks in the world! It truly has been a test of my faith, and my faith has grown so much through trusting God!
So, I refuse to be stressed or overwhelmed by the task that lies ahead, but am determined to trust my Provider.HOO!!

We have known Amanda for a long time. She was one of those little kids that would come to Sundayschool by herself, and stay for the whole service. I can See her standing up in the front row by herself or with one or two friends. Today Amanda is not standing there any more, she is off to University, but standing in her place are 30 or 40 other kids......ANY support of Amanda is seed in god soil..
We will be able to follow her summer progress at

Sam says " Sometimes I scare even myself!"

It was gift giving day in the village Orphanage in Central Asia. John Wright's mother had organized some donations of knitted blankets..hats and mitts. It was great opening the hockey bag and letting the orphans pick out hats and such. Sorry, I could not help it...I had to get into the act. What can I say? I have a big head! lol! Oh well, the kids had a good laugh and it was awesome to see the smiles on their faces as they put on some homemade stuff. Way to go Mrs. Wright! It was a huge blessing to those kids.

Its hard to express the feeling when I see a photo like this.... I know those Kids, I recognise the hats, and I see my hockey bag sitting there on the ground. I feel so blessed to work with organizations like Possibilities International and Loads of Love. They really are the voice for those without a voice.

The impact of a changed life!

Walking the hallways of an orphanage and wondering why on earth would any parent give these precious lives away. Standing on the edge of a garbage dump and watching many people search and dig for something...anything that they can sell or use. Visiting a 45 year old lady in the hospital that is "full" of infection....yes she is in the hospital but,if not for the care of a woman named Lena...well, she would not make it. So many lives being impacted...but if I am being truly honest, it is my life that is being impacted at the greatest level. My life and my voice, my gifts, my talents and abilities will be used to be the voice for the ones that have no voice...my life changed again...for the better.

no news from Central Asia

Well no news yet! Dave and Sam should have arrived a few hours ago in town. They are going to be spending a few days there before heading on to Xxxxxx for a week. We sent them loaded down with gifts for our friends there. Also they had a hockey bag full of knitting for the orphanage children.
The last trip over, although I did not make it myself, I was able to send a group of the ladies over to the Baby Orphanage with some beautiful quilts that were made by a friend of ours. It has been neet to see these quilts show up in photo's posted on other blog sights by people visiting the Town Baby orphanage. here is a photo of them being dropped off... Keep your eyes open you may see them again.

Ed Dickson Stoped by for a visit tonight, It was really good to see him, He had to speak at church tonight, then head for Leamington first thing in the morning.... that and the jet leg made it a short visit, but we are glad that he could make it.

Did I mention how much I hate winter, Friday our pump quit and I had to climb down the well and put in a new one, and Sunday we ran out of oil in the furnace again , and the wood pile is getting picked over, and all that's left now are the odd sized pieces....Then I think of the last post,..... of the excitement when we had coal delivered to some of the seniors,..... Gianna never has running water.... and I am sure he would be happy for Odd sized pieces of wood!

Asleep In The Light

Do you see, do you see, all the people sinking down,
Don't you care, don't you care, are you gonna let them drown,
How can you be so numb, not to care if they come,
You close your eyes and pretend the job's done.

Oh Bless me Lord, bless me Lord, you know it's all I ever hear,
No one aches, no one hurts, no one even sheds one tear,
But He cries, He weeps, He bleeds, and He cares for your needs,
And you just lay back and keep soaking it in, oh, can't you see it's such sin?

Cause He brings people to your door,
And you turn them away, as you smile and say,
God bless you, be at peace, and all Heaven just weeps,
Cause Jesus came to your door, you've left Him out on the streets.

Open up, open up, and give yourself away,
You've seen the need, you hear the cry, so how can you delay,
God's calling and you're the one, but like Jonah you run,
He's told you to speak, but you keep holding it in,
Oh, can't you see it's such sin?

The world is sleeping in the dark,
That the church can't fight, cause it's asleep in the light,
How can you be so dead, when you've been so well fed,
Jesus rose from the grave, and you, you can't even get out of bed,
Oh, Jesus rose from the dead, come on, get out of your bed.

How can you be so numb, not to care if they come,
You close your eyes and pretend the job's done,
You close your eyes and pretend the job's done,
Don't close your eyes, don't pretend the job's done.
Come away, come away, come away with Me, My love,
Come away, from this mess, come away with Me, My love.
