An exciting day

We all got up early this morning and got ready for a meeting at the Professional Institute here in town. It was a big day... Today was the day that Altynai would officially register at the institute.. She will have a one year intensive English course, then will move into a 4 year bachelor of English degree. This will be one of the highest academic colleges in the country. They are ready to start registrations next week, but knowing that we NEEDED to see this before we left, she was admitted today.... After registering, we had a quick meeting with the Dean... he asked Altynai her cross country standings, then in almost disbelief he asked if her could please see the documents himself... he explained to us how to read her scores... The documents indicated that 25 000 kids took the testing this year, and she was in the top 1000 placing her in the top 4% of all the graduating students in the country....

When we think of all the obstacles she has faced in her life.... It is only fitting that she should be the one of the first...if not the first student registered at this world class institute. I don't know who was happier us or her....or Jayne and David after this meeting we rushed to the Bus stop to meet up with Aigulia and the girls to take them shopping for furniture. The youth team had left $500 to buy furniture for them... We bought a couch, love seat, two chairs, a coffee table, two carpets, a new ceiling light, curtains and a curtain rod and 6 kitchen stools.... the fun part was fitting everything in the taxi that took them back to the village.... We were not the only ones to stop to take a photo...
