starting to pack food hampers

The first batch of seeds have arrived and they are starting to pack bags now  and the seeds I am bringing from Canada just passed the government inspection and we have the certificates in hand .  next up is to start packing the food hampers .. We have $500 in so far towards that . so that leaves us with $2000 to go to be able to provide $250 food hampers.

Sunday we head for the airport.  We have a three stop along the way in Portugal .  We have three other friends joining us for the way . The ladies will be walking and praying their way Up the coast of Portugal and Spain , ending in Santiago then on to Muxia.  I will be driving the support car , cooking meals and maybe doing a bit of fishing on the way .. On the 10th of April we will part ways and we will head on to Kyrgyzstan from there.

A look back at 10 years ago.

This photo was from 10 years ago , We had raised enough funds to hand out 25 grocery bags..

Today we are raising funds for 250 food packages to be given out with 250 bags of mixed  seeds ..  But lets stop for a minute and think of the blessing that this will be for the ONE ... Just $10 can make a world of difference.

Next up......... Food Hampers

Only 10 days until the official start of spring , but the gardens in Kyrgyzstan are loving it already .. We got the funds to cover the seeds that we will be picking up on Monday and start getting them ready for distribution .   The first year we did this , we had people that were so hungry that they started eating the seeds and the seed potatoes.  So since then , recognising that they will have just come through a  hard winter , we now try to bring food hampers to the families receiving seeds.   Our target for this is $10 a family @ 250 families brings us to $2500 for the food packages.   On April 1 we will start the deliveries , So our cut off for this need is March 25 , just two weeks , that will give time to transfer funds , do the shopping and prepare the food packages .   So at that time we will be able to know for sure how much we will be able to provide .   Please consider partnering with a family to help us meet this huge need .

With spring comes the spring cleaning and maintenance . The deep cold is hard on the mud block buildings and every spring we need to do repairs so that the rains do not wash them away.  As well this spring the meeting room at the farm is getting a face lift with the electrical repaired, and the cracked walls fixed.  We are trying to get this stuff done now while it is warm enough, and before the planting starts and the boys will be busy with that

Tomorrow Julie and I will be sharing in Stirling Ontario .. at Community Pentecostal Church  @ 10:30 . We would love to see you there if you are in the area and can make it out. This will be our last time of sharing before we head out on the 19th

Isaiah 58:11-12

11 The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.

12 Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.

Great time sharing in Fort Myers

We had a great weekend in Fort Myers .  we dropped my mom off at the airport with my brother who flew down from Thunder bay to pick her up, then flew out ourselves , leaving the fresh snow behind .. we got out just in time.

Where we were staying we were on in inland waterway I was able to get a line in the water an hour before heading over to the church.

We had a great service sharing about the work in Kyrgyzstan.  I will not be surprised if the next time we see many of them will be in Kyrgyzstan .

We are back home now, repacking and getting ready to fly out on the 19th.

If you are in the Stirling area, we will be sharing at the Community Pentecostal Church this Sunday morning.   It would be great to see you there .

On the road again

Julie and I are preparing to hit the road today .  We will drop my mom at the airport with my brother , then tomorrow morning we will head for Florida . We will be speaking at The Well Church at Fort Myers .  We will be in town for a couple days , if you are close and able to make it out we would love to see you .

We celebrated Angola's birthday this week.  She is doing great , and loved going out for lunch with the girls from Bishkek.

Here is some great news .  Ruslan had asked if he could attend driving school.. School has been difficult for him in the past but we decided to let him go for it .  Well when he registered he did not just register for lessons for a G licence , he signed up for all sizes and classed of vehicles.. nothing like reaching for the stars .. Yesterday  he picked up his Licence .. that's right he has passed the courses ..We are so proud of him, not just for getting the licence but setting out a goal, working through it and completing it .. Good Job Ruslan
