Once upon a time

Once upon a time there was a family in Minnesota that decided that for family Christmas ,  rather then exchanging gifts with siblings they would like to sponsor a special Christmas day in Kyrgyzstan.

With a donation of $300 and the help of our little Christmas helper Emima , preparations were made for a party with the blind and deaf society.

For many of the 209 kids that received gifts, this was the highlight of the year ..

Many get dressed up like little princes and princesses, for the "Grand Ball"

Once upon a time there was a family in Ohio,  they decided this Christmas they would like to make a lasting difference in someones life.  They heard about a baby we are helping . He is three months old and his mother died during his birth.   His single grandmother is struggling to care for him .

With a cost of over $50 a month for special formula alone , Without this help this poor baby would not have the future that it has today ..   With the Help of Aiperi, we have been able to reach out to this family on an on going basis.

Boy told that he play with fire but didn't think that it happen. she bought hay for all winter and spring ....... She could feed a cow all winter and spring the grass in the field won't appear yet. firefighters have put out fire but hay couldn't have saved unfortunately. Now she hasent food for the cow. She can't buy hay .. she needs about 150 bales hay . It will be best Christmas present for this five adopt children... I think if we are able to help this family together that their Christmas won't be such sad. John please share this story with brothers and sisters I believe that GOD will take care of this family.

1 hay bale costs 170 som. 170 som * 150th hay = 25500 com work to put hay of 600 som. This price on a market in Kemin. It will be convenient and is closer to her on a market to buy. And that she could choose hay.

On the 12th day of Christmas

This is the last of our 12 days of Christmas gift ideas

At the ranch we have a building that we have been working on over the summer.  So far it has new windows and doors,  and the outside walls have been repaired.   This we would like to make into an activity center for when we have groups of kids and other guests at the yurts.  The plan is to have a large kitchen and meeting room and a large covered veranda on the side that will have multi purpose eating / work tables.

The expected cost to finish and furnish the ranch will be around $2500

if you would like to sponsor all or part of this 12 day gift idea , please us the link below .

On the 11th day of Christmas

Any time of year is a perfect  time to show up at someones home, but some times are more perfect then others.  Christmas when those around you are gearing up for celebration is a time that seems to shine light on  how much you don't have .. it can be a lonely and depressing time of year for many.  What a great way to celebrate Christmas and give to a friend or colleague  .. for just $40 you can sponsor Christmas for a family in need.  They will receive a custom gift box with everything they need.

On the 10th day of Christmas

Tuition in KG is between $500 to a $1000 for the average university and 2 or three times that for the good ones.   With a good job a student can make about $150 a month over the summer.  That does not leave much for tuition and living.  There are many students out there that think they can pull it off but around this point in the year they are facing having to drop out of school because they can not make their second instalment in their tuition .  It is around now that start to get calls from some pretty desperate kids.  Some times they just need $50 or $60 other times they need a free hundred to continue.  with a Christmas gift donation to our scholarship fund we can give the hope that will carry these students through the year.  If you can’t think of the perfect gift for that hard to shop for, person, why not consider investing in someone’s future .

The 9th day of Christmas

We are so thankful for the out pouring of support for Slavic.  We were able to get him some warm clothes and toiletries and boots.  They will be brought in to the prison tomorrow.   We will be able to do some follow up visits as well to stay in touch with him and hopefully help him begin to turn his life around   GRACE..

This brings me to our 9th day gift .. we have identified about 20 other kids that are going into this cold winter with out winter clothes.  We would like to put together similar packs for them, including some coats as well .  The cost of a winter pack is just $40 . Just imagine the joy that would bring to someone with nothing when one of our workers shoes up to their home with new winter clothes ..   This could be the ideal gift for the person who has everything they need.

Not wanting to embarrass the families I will not show them this time, but I will take you for a little peek inside their one room home for mother and three kids.   Kitchen , living room, dinning room and bed room.  It makes me so blessed for all that we have and for all that we are able to give .. A sponsor told me once "God has blessed us so that we can be a blessing to others

On the 8th day of Christmas

RUNNING WATER

Up at the Kashar ( Ranch )  It can be a busy place, and will be getting much busier.   We would like to put in some running water so that we could set up a shower / banya, as well as a kitchen. and eventually an in door toilet. But that,s getting a little ahead of our selves.  Right now we would just like to have a tap at the house and a tap in the barn.  and maybe water for a garden and fruit trees.    The cost of this water project is expected to be around  $800. We will  put in a cistern, then pump threw filters and a UV light so that the water is guaranteed clean ..

On the seventh day of Christmas ....

Many children are placed in orphanages simply because there is no other child care available for working parents , or worse, they are left home alone all day .  We have been working with village officials to solve this by opening a kindergarten / day care that will have room for up to 200 kids from the surrounding villages.

bringing in bunk beds

standing in front of the newly renovated building

The cost of such a project is huge .. We have supplies beds, fridges, stoves, ovens and washing machines , close to $5000 worth of furnishings .  The opening was still $10 000 from completion .  With another NGO a plan was hatched that if we could find 10 NGO's or businesses to each raise $1000 we could be ready to open.  I agreed to this on the condition that I was the last donor  this time .  Once it was  $1000 away from opening we would bring money to the table .

I just received word that the others have all come through and that the final supplies have been ordered .  The community families are even having a big open house yard sale to raise funds for stocking the shelves .

What a great lasting gift to a community.  one that will make a real difference in kids lives, not home alone, and not growing up in an orphanage ..  If your family, business, service group or church group would be interested in helping with this, 200 kids will have the care they need .

On the fifth day of Christmas .....

FIVE BAGS OF COAL!

This year we have given out 100 tons of coal, but the needs are still there in a big way. with trade disputes the coal shortage has been crippling to do many .  Not just the poor, but now everyone is effected by the shortage.  we are continually coming across families needing help.  That's why your gift of 5 bags of coal could be a life saver for someone struggling to heat their home at this time   $40 could make all the difference in the world .  What better way to warm the heart of a loved one then to warm the home of a struggling family this Christmas season

On the 4th day of Christmas

4 calling  cards!

Having the ability to keep in touch is such an important thing that so many of us take for granted.   It is a big world out there and we have so many to worry about.  Kids going to appointments, struggling families with sick kids or seniors on there own.  Air time is not the luxury we tend to think it is , but rather it is a life line.   And it works both ways. Our team the dr’s and the care givers we work with all rely on cell phones to keep in contact with those we are helping.  Even a gift of $5 is enough to save a life if it’s on the right phone.   If we have air time we can put it on the individuals phones at times of crisis or concern.

On the third day of Christmas ... Three french hens

As you have seen many times here on the blog the gift of live animals can be an incredible blessing to families in need ..Goats and cows for milk, but a special blessing is a few chickens. They are easy to care for and provide eggs for protein and if things get especially bad over the winter they can be eaten.

If you would like to bless a family in need this winter in a tangible way , you can buy them a few chickens to add to a Christmas food hamper .. At $25 for three,  this is a great gift for the person who is hard to shop for.
