You are going to start getting tired of scenes like this, but let me tell you for the kids, they will never get tired of having the chance to get out of the orphanage. Yesterday was Tuesday night supper in town, and The director of the orphanage asked us if we could take the kids on a picnic.... ....We had heard of a neat little swimming holeand thought that this would be a good time to check it out... What was even better is that it was just down the road from the Yurts where we get the shashleek... Did someone say shashleek.?.... the kids just about flipped.... swimming and shashleek.... does life get any better then that!..... well yes it does, One of our young friends from the U.S. brought us a wiffle ball and bat.... What a hit...... pardon the pun.....
The kids kept saying how this was the best day ever.... It does not take a whole lot to make a big impact, sometimes just the simple things in life that we all take for granted can have the biggest impact...

Josh will be so happy to know they enjoyed it! Big Hugs to all of you!!
Is that kid on the right playing baseball in a speedo?
Oh my! Have not seen a speedo since Ron Hughes had one on golfing last summer!
I NEVER get tired of those scenes! Thank you for all you do!!!
JOhn,
It's what life is really all about...the simple moments...the Simple Dreams...they are life changing. If only people knew how much it really does mean to these kids to have an adventure outside the walls of their orphanage. Their lives are so drab, so narrow. Seeing Kenny's face as he explored Bishkek...his own town...for the first time with us...rode in a car, went inside a store and looked...and for our girls the sadness when they had to return to their orphanage at the end of the day. What you are doing there with picnics and swimming, playing and art...that alone is worth you being there.
