We arrived at the village orphanage today with a special guest...David and Jayne are back in town... As we were driving out , Julie turned to David and said " Its like we never left"... all is right in the universe. Here is a photo or Nuriza running to greet David. 
It is Baktagols birthday today, so we brought cake for everyone and a special gift for her. she was so excited. The usually shy girl even cracked a smile.... Hers is a difficult storey, but if just for a few minutes, she knows that she is special... I can't tell you enough the impact that something as simple as a birthday party for an orphan can make. It lets them know that they are not alone in the world.... Life for an orphan can be so impersonal... for only $25 a child's birthday party can be sponsored... 
From there we stopped at Vera's so David could have a chance to say hello to her and see all those that she feeds every day again. 
After a quick visit and a washroom break, we headed over to the village and the new Seniors home. 
We arrived there and told the director that she had 5 minutes to get ready, and we were taking her to the bazaar... and was it bazaar... when we got there, we told here that she had 16000 som to spend on food, cleaning supplies or anything else that she needed. We had a donation for her from a couple in Espanola that could identify with the burden that she has for the seniors and wanted to support her.... That is the equivalent of 7 months wages or $400 . She was so overwhelmed that she was shacking. After an hour of packing and running around, they had the van loaded and every one was climbing on board. then the gave us the change.... about 240 som... I looked at it and handed it back to her and sent her back into the store to finish the job.... 
After unloading the van at the home, the Seniors got up and came out to thank us.... They were so touched.. then Anna shared that she has a son that lives only a short distance away and he had left her to live on the street, yet this is the second time that we have come to visit her.

This is Anya... she was so touched with joy she began crying several times
We asked how many Seniors she was able to take in .. she said 60 was what they would have room for. The director works there at night to look after them, and sleeps on a few folding chairs in the kitchen. There are no more bed's .. She then told us that the next Babushka would be arriving the next day... and hopefully she will have her own bed when she arrives.... One thing is for sure is that there are no shortage of Seniors that need help. Jengish has one right now that we will likely move to the home in the next few days. We gave her $50 to buy another bed in case the babushka arrives without one..... and if she has her own bed, the director will get to sleep in a bed tomorrow night....

Teen Challenge has a truck, and have offered it for us to use any time we need it.... One thing that we strive to do at Possibilities International is to find those that are living in the dark corners of society and bring them hope.... I am finding more and more that when you really look closely, you will find a little light in some of those dark places.... like the director of the seniors home, Tanya.... I think we just need to pour a little fuel on this fire....

These are amazing stories and events, the pictures say 1,000 words. Just looking into the eyes of everyone tells a story.....the story of HOPE.
We can live for ten days without food, three without water and zero days without Hope.
Good to see David and Jayne back home too.

How do you deal every day with the EMOTIONS ? I'm just reading your words, seeing those faces and can't turn it off. God bless you all for what you are doing.
