Do you sleep through the wind ?

I heard a really good illustration yesterday.. It was the story of a young farm hand that when asked what qualifications he had, he answered "I sleep through the wind"... The farmer wondered what he meant by that, but gave him the job. A few months later he understood...

There was a terrible wind storm one night.. The farmer and his wife woke up to the noise and right away jumped out of bed to batten down the hatches.. but when they got out to the barn, they found everything secured... the animals were in, the machinery was secure and tied down, the windows were closed and boards up.... everything was secure, and the farm hand was asleep.... They then understood... he had done his job.. there was nothing more he could do, so when the storm blew in, he could sleep soundly...

As the storms begin to blow this winter in Central Asia, I wonder if we will be able to sleep the night .

I love that story, told to us by a master in communicating the Fathers heart.

One day soon, you will sleep through the storms, knowing that you have done all that you could to make those you love as secure as can be possibly achieved. Your recent trip was to do just that, help batten down the hatches, fill the coal bunkers and pantrys, pad the beds and provide the heat that the 80 did not see last year.....not this year.....this year you have made known on your resume "sleeps through the wind"
