Moving to a new Level

There is a program here called No comment... it simply puts a camera into the action, and lets the pictures and actions speak for themselves... We sat late into the night watching the horrors of war... It was hard to watch some times and our hearts went out to the families of those that were being killed in front of us... In the last couple hours they have stoped playing the footage from last night, and have begun showing people as they try to re build... almost more upsetting then last night was to see the dispare of people who have awoken to see that they have lost everything.... I have watched as some of the videos are of places I know well.. some very well... such great loss... people with so little and no form of recovery ... This is going to be a very different country in the months and years to come.
I learned of another new arrival to the Baby hospital .. last night during the riots, a young 15 year old girl went into labour... The baby , a beautiful baby girl is the newest resident there..I have more food here for them as well as some food for the nurses that have held up at the hospital until things calm down...so I decided to take a quick run over.... My drivers showed up for me... Two of the biggest Kyrgyz men in the valley... ... they arrived in a car with dark tinted windows and the licence plates covered .. They said that they brought this car because I could take pictures in at , as well as the driver was well known and respected here and we would be safe..
The streets of this town can look like a war zone at the best of times, but this was a bit much... The stores that could not be entered and looted, were fire bombed
several of the larger cafes were destroyed... this is Boneau.. the restaurant where we brought the orphanage kids for a birthday party with the youth team from Canada...many will remember dancing here
The store at the enterance of the bazaar was also destroid as well as many of the surrounding shops... this is where we would stop for a cold drink on the way into the bazzar...

As we headed down the back road toward the hospital, the roads were littered with burned out cars.. I am tol;d that these are the police cars ....

Finally we arrived at the hospital... There we found the most beautiful, perfect baby girl... Surrounded by such destruction, was a precious baby .. wrapped in Blankets made by ladies from a little town in Quebec.... the room was a stark contrast to what was all around.. it was quiet, newly renovated and painted, and as of last night all new flooring ...
I was doing ok until I held this little girl...I thought of holding my own Grandson a few weeks ago, and the contrast of the circumstances... Jonah was surrounded by the best care you could imagine... two parents that love him, four Grand parents who adore him... and an extended family who will move the mountains for him... And today this baby I am holding has none of that... she has only the little that the Dr's here have been able to provide... Her family had abandoned her and the future of her country is uncertain. I have never had such a hard time putting a baby down.

I have no idea how far down the list of priorities this little girl will be for the new Kyrgyzstan.. I guess we will have to wait and see. When the Dr saw me come in, I think the stress she has been facing came to the top... she was so relieved that we were still here, and said that she felt so much better when Vlady and the boys came to work this morning... having them there was a comfort to her as well..She said that she has had no contact from any one and does not know what will happen next...... I Never promise anything here, I always say that " I will see what we can do"... but today a promised her that our support was not going to end... that even when we are not in country, we will continue to raise awareness for her and all her babies... .. We have always gotten along well with her, but today.. ... things moved to a whole new level....
Here is a short clip of the store just around the corner from us...

Oh John, what a precious baby. Your love and compassion is overwhelming. We pray for Kyrgyzstan every day, for our adoptions, for the people, and now for peace and stability. Hugs to you....

Our hearts were in Kyrgyzstan, where we felt our child was. We still pray daily for Kyrgyz, and these children, and the people who will now have to yet again rebuild. Take care John.

Makes me so very, very sad. She is a beautiful, beautiful baby. I hope and pray that she will find her forever family very soon and that she is able to be surrounded with the same love and care that your own grandson has. Oh John.. this makes my heart hurt.
