One surprise after another.. we went over to get the patio stones for Dayspring, and they were done.. well almost... they are still wet, but will be ready for shipping tomorrow.. I truly was expecting them in another week... Sergey came over today and brought me out to the apartment to check and see how they were doing ..
JOE is the father over at the house that LAMb has been helping.. this week , This week he has been over helping Vlady with the renovations... I know you can't really tell from the bursting smiles in the photo here...(its a Kyrgyz thing not to show emotion..at the end of the post I will tell you another storey about that ) but they were soooo happy... at one point when showing me the floor she could not even stop smiling no matter how hard she tried.. then she said something that just about took my breath away.. she said "Now I have a hope for the future !" that is the name that we have for our store in the bazaar... but she doesn't know that ..
She went to the store with Larisa and chose the wallpaper and paint.. it is like a new fresh start for her... It's such a blessing to be part of such a transformation as we see JOE , no longer the aid recipient, But JOE the aid worker helping and sharing what it truly is to have "Hope for the future" From there we went over to the orphanage to deliver the school supplies.. it was fun to watch the kids struggle to carry the boxes as they insisted on helping. Each box weighed about 150 lbs.
But there was enough excitement for them that the little extra adrenalin was all they needed to get the job done...
I thought to myself ... boy are these kids going to be disappointed when they open these boxes to find school supplies, but the opposite happened.. peals of laughter filled the room as the ran to tell others that the school supplies had arrived... we just take so much for granted.. and these kids have not yet learned that here in KG we show no emotion..hahaha...
So to tell the rest of the other story, Bekah had wrapped a bunch of presents for her friends before she came.. the other day she stormed into the apartment and started ripping the wrapping paper off them all.. frustrated she told us that the custom here is that you do not open your presents in front of people, you quietly take them home and look at them in privet.
Poor Bekah wanted to see their expressions, and explain what the gifts were , but Nooo , she just got an expressionless polite than you ,.. so off with the wrapping paper , and now she gets the appropriate response...
