Amazing kids .

Tonight was one more wonderful  time .  We had four of our young friends with us for supper.  We had expected the whole family... or should we say families.. They are from the families that are refugees from Osh.   Like I say we had expected all of them, but the adults had made a trip into Osh to help some friends, and with the election, the roads have been closed, and the parents are once again stranded their , but this time with their kids here.. I sat and watched these kids.  They have seen more pain , killing , and destruction ten most of us could ever imagine, yet they came in happy, smiling, and soo polite.  The weekend, we spent two days in the apartment because of potential for trouble in the election, and we just about went crazy, I thought of them spending a few weeks in their basement, listening to the gunfire and hearing the killing going on around them while they prayed tat their father would make it to them safely....yet here they are a couple months later arriving at our door with big smiles ...amazing.... They brought their Uzbek guitar with them, and sat down and began to play and sing beautiful songs of peace... all the while I can only imagine what might be going on in their minds with their parents once again stranded in the south.  We had invited them for a few reasons, most of all was for another opportunity to be blessed by their presence, but also to give the parents the sponsorship money for their kids school tuition.. we had advanced enough funds to get them started, but still have a large balance for the 8 kids.  We will wait until the parents are here for this... The other reason we had them here is that while Benjamin was with us we bought 2 guitars so that he could teach guitar lessons while he was here.. He had asked us to give this family one of the guitars for the kids to continue to learn...  As we gave the guitars to the boys, it was funny ... the happiest reaction was from the sisters who were so happy to see their younger brothers happy... We told the boys that they now had to get really good so that they could teach the rest of the kids... and I am sure they will...
We then had Super... by request by the parents ...who ended up not even here, we had curried chicken on rice.  But its OK .. because special for the kids I had Banana splits for desert.  that was a hit too.  It was very hard to say good buy to them at the end of the night and have our driver take them home.. They seemed just fine with it , but I didn't.. we told them that if they need ANYTHING that they are to get hold of us... not sure that will, so I will just worry until I know that the parents are back home safe...
