Baby Hospital Update

After Years of going it alone. The Baby orphanage workers are overwhelmed with the support that they have received this fall from people like you... The Mayors office knew of this need, but did not have the funds and could not do anything about it, other then to seek us out and ask for help... I can only imagine being in their situation... so many needs, and simply no money to do anything... it must be heart breaking for them... despite what some might think, the vast majority of the Government really does care for their people, and No they are not all corrupt... many take everything that they have personally and share with those that they are responsible for... Some times if we can bring them a little HOPE, they will draw from that the strength that they need to continue fighting for what is right in their land.

Here the Hospital Director is receiving the new washing machine....

But what good is an Automatic washing machine with out laundry soap....

better yet, why not a 6 month supply of soap ?

They love the new toilet.....A squatty potty... just what most are used to.... ,

But seeing as we were doing the job.... YES...One more sit down toilet in town!..
Ican put another pin in my map....

The halls even got re plastered and painted

It's hard to believe that this is the same room... no more walls crumbling to the ground...

As I mentioned before... things kind of grew here.... we went from 1 room to ... get this ... 8 rooms, 2 bathrooms, a laundry room, the main hall and front entrance way with new door... as well as new water system with hot and cold running water. As well from this beginning, Our friends at Lamb are renovating a meal room, setting up seminars to help gather none disclosing information for the new babies for adoption, as well as counseling for the parents that are relinquishing the babies.... and if that is not all, they have committed to raising the funds to put the new flooring in the hospital... this job alone will be in the area of $2000... if you want to help with that let me know and I will put you in touch with them.

I mentioned at the beginning of this post that there are many in Government that really do care.. and are not all corrupt... If you take a close look beside me in many of the photos taken out at the rehab centre...like this one below.... you will find a police officer... and no it's not because I am under arrest, but more likely because when i come to town there is always a celebration meal and fellowship with the men, and Kenjebec is always invited.
He is a good man... he works hard in the village. and has always been very fair with us at the centre... time to time when you are dealing with very ill men off the street... well lets just say that you can not save them all, and sometimes we are to late... It is at times like this that we could have a lot of difficulties if we were not working close with the authorities.... fortunately
Kenjabec is fully supportive of the program... in fact at times when he needs help.. a little extra man power , he knows that he can come to the centre and Jengish will round him up support in a hurry....
This fall while talking to him, and checking out his car, I noticed the shape of his tires... they are bald, the belts are bent and bulging, and one has to be pumped up every few hours... I asked Jenish how much for new tires for him... it will be $125 for a new set... I thought ouch that is a lot for here, and did nothing about it... it has started to bother me... if that is a lot for me, imagine what it is like for him... he likely makes less then that in a month, yet must keep that car on the road... can you just imagine the temptation to start to become corrupt when you face stuff like that ... and you are allowed to carry a GUN..... It is a good man that can resist the temptation....
They have had the first snow fall n the mountains, and the roads are now getting bad.... This continued to bother me, so I have just sent Jengish to get him a new set of tires....Yay Western Union....
Maybe we can get him to smile in the next photo.....
happy driving my friend....

By the way we are up to 7 confirmed and 4 possibly for the Christmas pie challenge.... still time to sign up if you want in......
