The latest team arrived yesterday. They have been off to a very busy start. They arrived and had lunch then after lunch they picked produce for the kids camp the ia just up the valley from the farm. Then we hosted a nice visit with friends from LAMb. we had an awesome ploff and sweet corn, also a visit to the yurt and the kids had a chance to ride the horse. I am here on my own so I don't have pictures , Toady I did remember to take a few though .. fortunately Julie will be on her way here in a few hours so I won't have to worry about that.
The team brought lots of vitamins, band-aids , and sheets for the beds .. but best of all was a fantastic supply of coffee and peanut butter .
right after Breakfast this morning we were off to Auxana's to start the repairs on her barn . You may remember that it blew down a few weeks ago and all her poultry blew away.
So this morning we started construction on a new one for her
While we were doing that Bekah was running around Bishkek commissioning a playground for the village . She was able to find a nice centerpiece for the playground . It is a great start and we will be able to add more pieces to it as teams and guests wish to take part. Bekah has this one that they are building now. It will be delivered and set u on Monday thanks to our friends in the finger lakes ..
We were able to get the structure framed in before lunch .
Sergey and Auxana made lunch for the team .. it was so nice and sooo delicious .
After lunch we put the siding and the roof on. We brought new roofing, but we reclaimed the tin from the barn to finish the sides
we were finished for the day by around 4:00. we will be back next week with the door, and a bunch of Chickens, ducks, geese and a a couple goats . this will replace everything she lost, and some .
When we got back to the farm we still had lots to do. The girls worked at bottling up some honey , we have 20 bottles ordered for tomorrow . While they were doing that, some of us went up to the yurt to unload patio stones and sand and blocks . In a couple days we will be setting up the second yurt, so we need to get the platform ready for it .
We played a new game before supper tonight . I bought 10 fly swatters and a bag of mixed chocolate bars. The before the meal, everyone had exactly 5 minutes to kill as many flies as they could.. and the winner got to chose a chocolate bar. It was great fun, and then we were all able to eat in piece.
between the guest houses we have such a nice garden. I love looking out my window and seeing people stop to relax and enjoy it .. the video below is from a couple days ago when Nick was having a little break .. hope you enjoy .
