1 teaspoon ground marjoram

We are looking forward to being back in Kyrgyzstan with our girls on Boxing day next week .  They have been very busy these last few weeks with the school semesters coming to an end, and working with and supporting so many kids in need .  Now they are busy with us making plans and helping our friends organize Christmas parties in the many orphanages and institutions that we come along side.  There are 2080 in total this year, and that number is trying to stretch daily as more and more needs come to us , like a couple families that may loose their children if they do not have some help with food this winter , or another home for the disabled with another couple hundred disabled kids that have aged out of the orphanages.. as funds and time is available, I am sure that the impact of your donations will continue to grow.

We are excited to have a few guests coming along with us this year , two great guys from MN will be with us for a couple weeks.   A young lady from Ontario will also be joining us for the month.  She is a special dream agent for Possibilities International and will be a blessing I am sure as we strive to make every kid feel special and loved this Christmas.

As I have shared before, Emma  decided that she would go back to school so that she would be able to stay on a student visa, a much much cheaper way.  For it to actually be cheaper, she would have to take her studies in Russian rather then in the class geared to foreign students.  To top it off, She chose to Study the Kyrgyz Language.. Kyrgyz grammar taught in Russian .  Then just to add a little challenge, she started half way through the semester and had to catch up.  Well she just got her marks and  was able to pull off a B- on her final exam which pulls her over all mark to a solid C.   Way to go Emma .

Talking to Bekah tonight , she is making plans for a Christmas dinner for a hole bunch of kids at our apartment Christmas day. They even have a live turkey coming from Osh for the occasion..  I told her I wanted video of this .. she said that if it arrives alive, then it will be a guest rather then the main event.  They have found someone that will prepare it for her ,    You cant buy poultry seasoning there as a mixed spice so she will need to make her own.  We looked up the ingredients and found

2 teaspoons ground sage
1 1/2 teaspoons ground thyme
1 teaspoon ground marjoram
3/4 teaspoon ground rosemary
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon finely ground black pepper

We decided that we did not want her going to the bazaar and asking for Marjoram   there is enough that gets lost in translation there, and we did not think it was necessary that she land in prison for trying to purchase 1 teaspoon ground marjoram .
