More babies on the farm.

I don't know how many of you knew that hours before we left Kyrgyzstan, one of the boys came out of the nursery with a huge basket of eggs he collected...

I explained to him that those are the eggs from the nests, and I carefully put them all back.  Ducks , chickens and geese.

This morning one of the chickens hatched out a nest full of duck eggs...not sure if I mixed them up or she just took over the ducks nest, but I am sure she will be a good mom.

Team Peterborough Sept 2025

We are looking forward to a team coming from Peterborough the last two weeks of September .   There original goal for projects was $1400 .  Praise God that target was quickly met through your generosity.  This has lead us to choosing another project if people would still like to sponsor .  While in Kyrgyzstan  the team will be staying on the farm where young men who have graduated from the orphanage system live and receive life skills training.  These boys form a family that the teams quickly become part of.  Since this is fall, we would like to sponsor the boys for a shopping trip to get some winter clothes and if possible some winter boots.    Along with the farm guys , we are planing to take a small orphanage shopping for winter clothes and school supplies

We are looking for help to raise $2000 for this project .   If you would like to help us with this you can use the link here for "Canada helps" or if needing a US tax receipt, please use the link on the top right side of the blog and check back here and I will adjust the thermometer as funds come in.

Donate Now Through CanadaHelps.org!

If you would prefer an e-cheque can be sent to

actofkindness127@gmail.com

The projects that have already been sponsored are below .. stay tuned to the blog starting Aug 15 for daily updates as the team impacts those around them

They would like to focus on a small remote school this trip. The school has no other sponsors and can really use the help.  In the past we have given them a refrigerator , a hot plate , and a microwave  as well as school supplies for the kids .

This price is in US $ so we will need $900 CDN for this .

This fall we would like to start the construction of a playground , then at the opening of the playground we will have a party and give out school supplies again .   We will need another $100  for the party

We will build the playground on the flat land behind our bus .. lots of room to expand in the future.

This will bring the mountain project to $1000 .

Another project that the team is excited about is a bowling trip with kids .
This comes to $400 Canadian

Not forgotten.

Our young friend is pretty excited for his new wheels .Thank you to those who made this possible

Tanya was able to get this hand stimulator for him included with the walker . This will help with physiotherapy.

Tanya also wanted to say thank you to those of you who send monthly support for her seniors .

A little bonus this month was roosters from the farm to go with the bag of groceries .

This is such a blessing to so many , but more then just the food, it is the time that Tanya spends with them so that they know that they are not alone .. or forgotten.

Wind damage

Last week there was a bad wind storm that came through town .. sergeys house was hit hard along with another neighbour.  Both lost parts of their roof.  We are trying to figure out the replacement . Please if anyone would like to help with this, it would be appreciated .  My guess is that it could be as much as $1000 that he will need .

Travel hack .

Today Julie and I begin our long journey home.  A few years back we noticed a sharp increase in the cost of our flights. When traveling to a destination on one ticket, the airlines is responsible for us when there are flight delays and interruptions .  With the current instability of the flights , they have increased prices to cover the added costs of hotels etc. if flight is delayed.   We realized that if we book each leg of our journey separately we can save $700 or $800 each In the total flight cost.  And if we find specials to Europe like today's flight we can save $1000 each .  But here is the catch.  If a flight is delayed and we miss the connecting flight we have to book our new ticket ourselves and a redicules price.  So what we do is take a day out of the airport at each stop along the way so that if our flight is canceled or delayed we have time to make the connection. This really helps with adjusting to the time change as well.

So here we are in Bishkek , 4:00 am and our flight boards in another hour .  We are flying to Istanbul and then on to  Lisbon Portugal .  We will spend six days in Lisbon , then fly on to Casablanca Morocco for one night then continue on to Toronto.  When we factor in Airbnb and car rentals each direction , we are still saving $400 each, and we get a little holiday along the way .  Julie will do some walking along the Camino and I will get caught up with some reports to supporters .. and maybe a little extra sleep as well.

Lots accomplished today

Tonight we took a quick drive up the mountain to sit on the swing and watch the sun go down.

It also gave us a chance to admire the work our last team did on the Kashar.  They finished the roof and put the gates on the entrance .

It was such a nice evening that we decided to get some more rocks for the rock garden at the guest house .

Today the team was busy at the playground digging holes and cementing in the new fence.

They joined us for a great lunch .

Someone caught me pretending to work.

Losha , The Farm Photographer

For those of you who do not know Losha  , I wanted to introduce you to him.  He has been on the farm for about 6 years now.  Over the last few years,  Losha has developed an interest in photogrphy.  I have always enjoyed his pictures on FB.  Not only do I like to see the progress of things,  but it gives an insight into how things are going.   As we are preparing to head back to Canada,  We have decided to give lotia a little extra task on the farm.  He will be our new photographer.  Here are some of the photos that he has taken over the last few weeks.

Every day He will be sending me a few pictures that I will be able to use here on the blog.

Join us in congratulation Losha for his new responsibilities.
